How a feature card works
Every card on the Chores page works the same way:Build & upgrade
Builds and upgrades the buildings you tick, top to bottom, up to 2 at once. It can use alliance helps and speed-ups you own. It never spends gems. In Settings ▾ you see the list Buildings to build and upgrade. Tick the buildings you want and use the ▲ ▼ arrows to set the order. Each line shows the building’s current level.
The game decides what is allowed. If a building needs resources or another building first, Vanguard moves on to the next ticked building and comes back later.
Advanced
Research
Researches Academy technology from the lowest tier up in the tree or trees you pick. It can use alliance helps and speed-ups. It never spends gems.
If a technology needs something first, Vanguard moves on and comes back later.
Crystal research
Researches crystal technology at the Crystal Research Center in the KvK lands, lowest ready technology first. Before it sends anything, Vanguard checks that the technology’s earlier technologies, your Research Center level and your crystal are all in place. It can use alliance helps and speed-ups. It never spends gems.
Advanced has Stop waiting for helps after no new help for.
Alliance help
Helps every alliance member’s building and research requests. The only setting is Check every.Alliance build credits
Sends 1 troop with your chosen commander to an alliance building that takes 1 troop per player, collects your daily credits, then brings the march home.
Advanced
Alliance gifts
Opens every alliance gift as it arrives. The only setting is Check every.Quests & chests
Claims finished quests and the daily activity chests. The main setting is Check every. Advanced has Activity points each daily chest needs, which you only change if your game’s chest thresholds differ.Collect production
Collects every farm, lumber mill, quarry and gold mine in your city. The only setting is Check every.Alliance territory resources
Collects the resources your alliance territory gathered for you. Set how often with Collect every (in hours). If the game refuses three times in a row, for example because you are not in an alliance, Vanguard waits a day before trying again.
Event turn-in
Uses an event item from your bag the same way the event’s own button does. By default it turns in Art Carnival paintbrushes.
After each batch Vanguard reads your bag again and stops if the count did not drop as expected.
Alliance tech
Donates to the alliance’s recommended technology until your donations run out. The only setting is Check every. This card stays off until it has been confirmed to work on your account.Mobilization quests
Takes the Alliance Mobilization quests you tick, in your order and at the points you pick. Vanguard accepts the first matching quest on the board, does it with its own chores, and turns it in. It never buys anything or spends gems. Use it during Alliance Mobilization to fill your quest slots without watching the board.Pick your quests
In Settings ▾, under Quests to take:- Tick each quest Vanguard may accept.
- Tick the point levels you want for that quest. Only the game’s real levels are offered.
- Use the ▲ ▼ arrows to set the order. Vanguard always tries the top quest first.
Gather resources and the single-resource gather quests are separate quests. You can tick them together.
When Vanguard takes a quest, it switches on the chores that quest needs and writes a warning in the log, for example
turning on gather (Food only) — needed for the quest you chose: Gather Food 180. After the quest is turned in or runs out of time, Vanguard switches back only what it changed. A chore you had on already is never touched.
If someone else takes the quest first, Vanguard goes on down your list. A Working on line on the card shows the quest the account holds right now.
Training quests
Use speed-ups, Power from building, research or training and Power from training are done only by training troops. When you tick one of them, the card shows the troop setup:- Tick the troop types to train. Give each a tier and its share (%) of the quest’s points. Vanguard works out how many troops to train and sizes each round to the building’s level.
- Same troop setup for all three: one mix for every training quest. Untick it to set a mix per quest.
- Use resource items from the bag when resources run short: uses only what the next round needs, fewest items first. Never gems or “Pick One” chests.
- First pick up a training-speed rune with 1 troop: sends a commander pair with 1 troop to a training-speed rune within 100 tiles and a 10-minute march. Pick a First commander pair, a Second commander pair (used when the first is not home) and the Troop to send. With no rune in reach, Vanguard trains anyway.
- Ask for the Duke title before training: posts
!dukein kingdom chat and waits up to 15 minutes for the title. If the title is taken mid-quest, training pauses until it is back.
Settings
Switching governors only goes to governors ticked for switching on the Governors page that have Mobilization quests switched on with their own quests ticked. It needs your governors linked and a Tier 1.5 or Tier 2 license, which allows switching.
In Vanguard Hub,
