# Switch governors and set per-governor settings in Vanguard

> The Governors page rotates between your characters on a timer. Link your governors once, then tick which ones take turns and in what order.

If you have more than one governor on the same account, the **Governors** page lets Vanguard rotate between them automatically. Each governor can use the shared settings or its own.

> The **Governors** page is only visible with a **tier 1.5** or **tier 2** license. With a tier 1 key the page is hidden.

## Take turns between governors

Switch on **Take turns between governors** to make the loop play one ticked governor, then move to the next one in the list. Set **Switch every** to the number of minutes each governor should be active before the handover. The switch happens automatically; the game reloads each time, which is normal.

No switching happens during the nightly rest window or while the pill is set to DRY-RUN.

## One-time setup

Vanguard must learn your governor list before it can switch between them.

**1. Press Link governors**

On the Governors page, press **Link governors**.

**2. Open Settings → Characters**

In Rise of Kingdoms open **Settings → Characters** once. Vanguard reads your governor list automatically.

## Your governors table

After linking, the **Your governors** table lists every governor Vanguard has seen. The columns are:

* **Turns**: A toggle that adds or removes the governor from the rotation.
* **Order**: The sequence number. Use the arrows to move a governor earlier or later in the rotation.
* **Governor name**, **ID**, **Kingdom**, **Power**: Information read from the game.
* **Settings**: Shows **shared** or **own**. Shared means the governor follows the same settings as everyone else. Own means it has its own saved overrides.

### Shared and own settings

A governor with **shared** settings uses the same values as every other governor in the list. To give a governor its own settings, press **Edit settings** on its row. From that moment on, every page you change (Chores, Military, Dailies, Gather, Settings) is saved for that governor only. Anything you do not change still follows the shared settings.

To return a governor to the shared settings, press **Use shared**. Vanguard will ask you to confirm, because this deletes the governor's personal overrides.

You can also press **Switch now** on any governor who is not currently active to force an immediate swap.

## Advanced timings

With **Expert mode** on, open the **Advanced** fold on the Governors page to see technical timings for the switch process. These include how long Vanguard waits for the game to reload between governors, the timeout before giving up on reconnecting, and the pause between retry attempts.

> In **Vanguard Hub**, press **Link governors** and Vanguard asks the game directly for your governor list — nothing to open in the game.
