# Activity watch: track rogue players, shields and logins

> Track rogue players with activity scans, a shared watch list, and a live board leadership can open to members. See shields dropping and get DM alerts.

Activity watch helps your kingdom keep an eye on players, especially rogue players. The bot reads the game for last login, power, kills, helps, city location, and peace shield, then shows what changed since the last read. Players on the watch list get a live board in the app and in Discord, and alert DMs when their shield is about to drop. For on-demand shield checks, see [shield check](/leadership/shield-check). For automatic shield and teleport warnings on individual governors, see [shield and teleport alerts](/leadership/shield-alerts).

## Who can see it

Leadership chooses who can see the activity watch board. The board starts as leadership only.

* **Members too:** members see the same board leadership sees, read-only, and can turn their own alert DMs on.
* **Leadership only:** only leadership can see the board and get alert DMs.

Only leadership can ever change the board. Running scans, editing the watch list, auto scan, posting the board, and the visibility setting are always leadership only.

To change who can see it:

* **In the app:** on [**Leadership > Activity**](/leadership/activity-board-access#open-or-close-the-board-in-the-app), set **Who can see the board** to **Leadership only** or **Members too**.
* **In Discord:** run `/activity-board` and pick **Board: members can view** or **Board: leadership only**. See [Activity board access](/leadership/activity-board-access#open-or-close-the-board-in-discord) for details.

While the board is leadership only, the bot never keeps it in a channel everyone can read. The bot refuses to post it there. If you switch to leadership only, the bot takes down a board already in such a channel. It also takes the board down if its channel becomes public later. Post it in a leadership channel.

### How members view the board

When leadership opens the board to members:

* **In the app:** members get an **Activity** pill on the Events and Fine pages. It opens the same Activity page without the scan, watch, hide, auto scan, or setting controls.
* **In Discord:** members run `/activity-view` (also in the `/kingdom` menu as **Activity board**) and pick **View the board**, **Alerts on**, or **Alerts off**.

## Run an activity scan

There are two kinds of scan:

| Scan | What it reads | How long |
| - | - | - |
| **Whole kingdom** | Every alliance roster (or one alliance by tag), plus your watch list | A few minutes |
| **Watch list only** | Only the cities on your watch list | About a minute |

**In the app:** go to **Leadership > Activity** and tap **Scan now**. You can enter an alliance tag to scan just one alliance.

**In Discord:** run `/activity`. Pick **Whole kingdom** or **Watch list only (faster)** in **scan**, and optionally an alliance tag in **alliance**. The bot posts the result in the channel when it finishes.

A player is marked **active** when their last login is newer, their city moved, or a counter such as helps, power, or kills went up since the previous scan.

<Info>
  Online status is only known for players in an alliance. Players with no alliance have no login time to read.
</Info>

## Build your watch list

Leadership builds the watch list, and all of leadership shares it. Watched players are always listed first, strongest first. Scan results leave out hidden players.

**In the app:** on **Leadership > Activity**, tap **☆ Watch** or **Hide** on a player. Use the search box to find players by name, governor ID, or alliance tag. Separate several with commas.

**In Discord:** run `/activity-watch`, pick **Watch**, **Hide**, or **Clear**, and enter a governor name or ID.

## What the bot reads for watched players

On every scan, the bot reads each watched player's city on the map and shows:

* **Location:** the city's coordinates. A teleport shows as a banner, for example `🧭 TELEPORTED X:568 Y:672 → X:601 Y:640`.
* **Shield:** time left on their peace shield, or no shield.
* **Battle record:** wins, losses, deaths, healed, scouts, kills, and kill points, with the change since the last read. The bot shows rising deaths and losses in amber.
* **Last login:** from their alliance roster.
* **Device:** the device type (PC, Android, or iOS) and other accounts in your kingdom that use the same device, strongest first. The device ID itself is never shown.

A city the bot could not see shows as **not read**, never as "no shield".

## The watch board

The app's **Leadership > Activity** page groups watched players by danger:

* Shield drops within 1 hour (with a red alarm and ticking countdowns)
* Shield drops in 1 to 6 hours
* No shield
* Shielded 6 hours or more
* Not read

Each player has a block with their name, power, coordinates, battle stats, and their own events from the last 24 hours.

### Shield down is confirmed by the game

When a watched player's shield end time passes, the bot reads their city again within about a minute. Until that read lands, the board shows **⏳ ended · checking** instead of guessing. The read then confirms the shield is down or that a new shield went up.

## Post the board in Discord

Run `/activity-board` and pick an action in **do**:

| Action | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Post the board in this channel** | Posts the live board here. If it was in another channel, it moves here. |
| **Remove the board** | Takes the board down. |
| **Alert me (DM)** | Turns on alert DMs for you. |
| **Stop my alerts** | Turns off your alert DMs. |
| **Board: members can view** | Lets members view the board (read-only) and turn on their own alert DMs. |
| **Board: leadership only** | Only leadership can view the board and get alert DMs. |

The board is one message that the bot updates in place after each scan, or when a shield moves to another group. If someone deletes it, the bot posts it again. Its buttons are **🔔 Alert me**, **🔕 Stop alerts**, and **🔄 Scan watch list** (leadership only).

## Get alert DMs

The bot sends alert DMs only to people who asked for them. You get a DM when a watched player:

* Has a shield ending within 1 hour
* Puts up a new shield, or their shield drops or ends
* Teleports
* Uses a device never seen on them before, or a new account appears on their device

To turn alerts on or off, run `/activity-alerts` and choose **On** or **Off**, or tap **🔔** or **🔕** on the board. Leadership can always do this. Members can do it when activity watch is open to everyone. See [Activity board and alert DMs (members)](/players/activity-board) for the member view.

## Turn on auto scan

* **Activity auto scan (15/30/60/120/240 min, or off)**: how often to scan.
* **Activity auto scan reads (watch or full)**: scan only the watch list, or the whole kingdom.

You can also set auto scan on the app's Activity page. A whole-kingdom auto scan runs at most once an hour.
